I attended the Turkish Vegan Meze workshop last year and it was a truly wonderful experience. The workshop was very well organized and felt both welcoming and inspiring from start to finish.

We learned how to prepare a variety of traditional Turkish meze dishes, all vegan, using fresh ingredients and authentic techniques. Nil Duru, eigenaar van Global Seasons, heeft opnieuw – en weer geheel tot mijn tevredenheid - de catering verzorgd bij mij thuis in Amsterdam. Dit keer na afloop van mijn 11e huiskamerconcert door Mehmet Polat Quartet t.g.v. mijn 65e verjaardag. Haar gerechten waren ook deze keer weer heel erg lekker (een orzo tomaten groentesoep en een lasagne met pompoen, Franse linzen, paprika en mais) en iedereen aanwezig heeft er volop van genoten. De porties waren ook dit keer ruim bemeten en ik heb van de overgebleven soep nog ruim een week genoten. De resterende bak lasagne heb ik echter geschonken aan een groep internationale studenten woonachtig in broedplaats ACTA bij mij in de buurt. Vandaag kwamen zij de lege tray bij mij terugbrengen en bedankten mij uitbundig voor deze onverwachte gelegenheid kennis te kunnen maken met de kookkunsten van Nil. Hun reactie was: “The lasagna was really amazing! We all enjoyed a second helping.” Als oudere jongere ben ik oprecht blij dat ik deze tray ovenschotel met hen heb gedeeld, ook al hadden zij voor mij zelfs niet een heel klein stukje bewaard ;-) Als troost heb ik het resterende deel van Nil’s extraatje, een frisdrank met basilicum op receptuur van haar moeder, lekker helemaal in mijn eentje opgemaakt. Ik raad catering door Global Seasons (‘plantbased’ vegetarisch) aan iedereen van harte aan! Nil levert een kwalitatief topproduct en voor een alleszins redelijke prijs!

Nil is een fantastische kok en een heel fijn mens. Je kunt heerlijk eten bij haar afhalen, bijna iedere donderdag. Daarnaast heeft ze bij mij thuis gekookt voor een groot verjaardagsdiner. Lekkere starters, beeldschone dumplings en een frisse limoentaart. Ze was heel flexibel in voorbereiding en doet er alles aan om jouw event naar wens te maken. I joined Turkish breakfast by Nil. It was a perfect event for me as I was missing the authentic Turkish breakfast in Netherlands. Nil had many genuine products on table and there was more food than we could eat. I would love to be back one of her breakfasts!
